More about this game
In Tiny Reef Explorer, your goal is to peacefully swim through an underwater environment to complete your reef checklist. The core loop involves tapping the screen to glide your explorer at a speed of 520 units toward undiscovered marine life and hidden items. You must locate and scan six specific animals, including a sea turtle and an octopus, while also gathering three scattered pearls. The difficulty remains relaxed with no enemies or timers. A run ends successfully when you collect every item, unlocking the glowing shell cave and swimming inside.
Tips
- If you lose your way or cannot find the last pearl, stop moving for exactly 8 seconds to trigger yellow hint bubbles that float up from your explorer.
- Look for the pulsing yellow rings in the water; scanned creatures and collected pearls will display a glowing circle to show they are already completed.
- The glowing shell cave remains locked and blue until you find all nine checklist items, at which point it turns bright gold and allows you to enter.
FAQ
- Which specific creatures do I need to scan in the reef?
- Your checklist requires you to find and scan six specific friendly animals scattered around the map: a Clownfish, a Seahorse, a Sea Turtle, a Jellyfish, a Stingray, and an Octopus.
- What happens if I cannot find the last hidden pearl?
- There is no time limit, so you can explore freely. If you stay completely idle for 8 seconds, the game will generate small yellow hint bubbles around your explorer to help guide your attention.
- How do I know when the shell cave is finally open?
- The HUD at the top of the screen will update to say the cave is unlocked. The cave entrance itself will also change from blue to gold and emit a large glowing ring.
