Ocean Shell Link is a tile-matching puzzle where you clear a grid of 9 rows and 8 columns by linking identical shells. The catch is that the connecting line between two shells can only turn a maximum of two times and cannot pass through other shells. You start with 150 seconds to clear all 32 pairs. Building a chain of quick matches increases your combo multiplier for extra points. The run ends in victory if you clear the board, or in defeat if the timer reaches zero.
Tips
- Look for pairs on the outer edges of the board, as they often have clear paths that wrap around the outside without hitting obstacles.
- Chain matches quickly to build your combo multiplier, which adds up to 126 bonus points per match. Fast matches also grant a speed bonus.
- Use your 3 hints or 3 shuffles carefully. Using a hint costs 50 points, and manually triggering a shuffle reduces your score by 90 points.
FAQ
- Why can't I match two identical shells?
- The path between the two shells must not pass through any other shells on the board, and the connecting line can only turn a maximum of two times.
- What happens if there are no more valid moves?
- The board will automatically shuffle the remaining shells to ensure there is at least one valid move. This automatic shuffle happens instantly and does not cost you any points or use up your manual shuffles.
- How is the score calculated for each match?
- Each match gives a base score of 120 points. You also receive a speed bonus equal to your remaining time multiplied by 0.28, plus a combo bonus of 18 points per consecutive match, up to a maximum of 126.
