About Powder Reaction Lab
Experiment with elements, liquids, and gases in a sandbox lab to build machines, trigger chain reactions, and observe thermal physics.
How to play
- Select an element, liquid, gas, or tool from the bottom tray categories.
- Drag on the grid to paint the selected material with a brush size from 1 to 14.
- Place lab stations like mixers or vacuums by dragging a rectangle over the grid.
- Watch how different elements react with each other, such as lava turning water into steam.
- Use the pause button to set up complex reactions before they start simulating.
Controls
- Touch
- Tap buttons to select elements, then drag on the grid to paint them.
- Keyboard
- Press numbers 1-7 to select elements, P to pause, and R to reset.
- Mouse
- Click buttons to select elements, then click and drag on the grid to paint.
More about this game
Powder Reaction Lab is a sandbox simulator where you experiment with over 70 different materials and machines. You can mix solids, liquids, and reactive gases to see how they interact, or build complex setups using lab tech like pipes, pumps, and heaters. The goal is entirely up to you—create explosive chain reactions with sodium and water, grow plants, or design intricate cooling systems with liquid nitrogen. There is no end state, just endless experimentation as you track total reactions in real-time.
Tips
- Mix water and sodium to create a massive explosive reaction, or combine water with chlorine to produce acid and toxic gas. Plants will grow if they absorb water.
- Use the vacuum station to clear out gases and smoke from your lab, or place a drain to remove solid materials. You can erase stations with the Erase tool.
- Manage temperatures carefully using heaters and coolers. Wood will catch fire if the heat exceeds 112, while liquid nitrogen cools surrounding areas down to -80, freezing water into ice.
FAQ
- How do I clear the grid?
- You can clear the entire grid by tapping the RESET button at the top right of the screen. This resets all heat levels to 20 and removes all lab stations.
- Can I pause the simulation?
- Yes, tap the PAUSE button to stop time. This lets you paint complex setups without them reacting immediately. The screen will display LAB PAUSED while you prepare your experiment.
- How do lab stations work?
- Select a station like the Bunsen burner or Sprinkler from the Lab Station tab, then click and drag to draw its area. It will automatically apply heat, water, or electricity.
